Today I was seen as an emergency appointment by a duty doctor — not my usual GP — for a recurring infection. Given my history of sepsis following a previous operation, the surgery has me red-flagged, and I can say with confidence that flag is taken seriously.
Despite this being an unplanned appointment, the doctor had clearly read my recent history thoroughly and was fully up to speed on my concerns from the moment I walked in. He acted swiftly, making immediate adjustments to my medication and — impressively — provided a recommendation to my Cardiac Consultant to investigate whether an underlying heart infection might be the root cause of these recurring episodes.
What really stood out was the speed and efficiency afterwards. The recommendation for my Cardiac consultant was sent to me the same day.
This is exactly the kind of joined-up, proactive care that makes a real difference to patients with complex histories. Whitecliff Surgery should be very proud of the standard of care they are delivering. Thank you.
